WMP 12 Internet Access to Home Media

The Windows 7 feedback tool is gone so I guess I’m posting here.

I understand that WMP 12 cannot SHARE media over the internet when connected
to a domain controller, but it appears that it also cannot access home media
that’s been shared while connected to a domain.

I have a desktop PC connected to a domain on a Windows 2003 SBS R2 server,
and a Tablet PC both connected to the same WiFi network and both running
Windows 7 Ultimate. The Tablet PC is paired with my Live ID and can easily
stream media from my home PC also running Windows 7 Ultimate (all RTM
versions). My desktop PC (64bit) connected to a domain is also paired with
my Live ID in the same manner as the Tablet PC on the same network, however,
my home Media Center PC does not show up in the "Other Libraries" listing.

If I log into the desktop PC without using a domain user (i.e. not log into
a domain), then Windows Media Player STILL does not show the remote media
libraries shared over the internet via my Windows Live ID. Do all computers
have to be part of a Homegroup for this to work??

Why is my Tablet PC able to access my home Media Center library from the
same network as a computer that is NOT able to access that same shared media
library?

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
