The follow on to Google’s Nexus One ‘superphone’ will be aimed at a business market a Google executive allegedly reveals.
The Nexus One is just a mere five days old and yet speculation has already begun to circulate about Google’s next endeavour into the mobile market, the Nexus Two – ingenious and surprising name choice there.

Andy Rubin, a Vice President of Engineering at Google and a key figure in the development of their Android operating system, reportedly told the Wall Street Journal that the next edition of their self-dubbed ‘superphone’ will be designed with enterprise users in mind and could sport a physical, slide-out keyboard.
The Nexus One, Google’s first attempt at developing and selling a piece of technological hardware, is aimed as an iPhone beater in the ever crowded smartphone market. If rumours are to be believed, a possible ‘Nexus Two’ would target the market share dominated by popular corporate devices such as RIM’s Blackberry range.
It is yet unclear what aspects of the Nexus One would remain in a business edition, but its impressive web browsing and speech recognition functions are likely to be accompanied by enhanced security options, Microsoft Exchange support and a slide out QWERTY keyboard to replace the Nexus One’s touch-screen option.
Stay tuned to T3 for further information on the next Nexus as this rumour mill surrounding a Google business phone is sure to keep on grinding for a good while yet.
