Motorola Milestone to get Android 2.1 upgrade by April

Moto Milestone users could be forgiven for getting a little antsy that, with the arrival of the HTC Desire and Google Nexus One, their handset was rapidly looking like old Android hat.

The main reason for this – apart from the the fact the device was launched in the dark ages (late 2009) – is that it runs on Android 2.0 thereby missing out on goodies such as 3D photo galleries, interactive wallpapers, and voice typing.

Moto has obviously realised that this will not do, so it’s upgrading the whole line in Europe to Android 2.1 before Easter.

The upgraded Android is available for the Hong Kong and Macau markets right now, so if you can’t wait and know a thing or two about modding your device, you can download it directly.

Otherwise, you can be patient and enjoy a faster Milestone within more goodies with days.

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
